The setting is an alternate Edo period in Japan. Kuromitsu, with his trusty old servant Ji, is the last headmaster of the Toku-tokugawa family. The Toku-tokugawa family was the premiere family of Japan, until they lost everything through defeat in recent wars, which left Kuromitsu completely broke. Even though he is broke, Kuromitsu still has enough pride and lordly nature to revive his family name and bring back the glory of the Toku-tokugawa family!
