I personally believe this series is very good on its own terms. The character development may seem lacking for a few but you have to understand the characters’ perspectives and where they’re coming from. MC may be generic but then again, isn’t that how most shonen are? People compare it to AoT but if you just stop and just watch it like it’s something on its own, it’s worth watching in my opinion. Kabaneri gave me emotional rollercoasters for sure, which is something that I didn’t feel much of with Attack on Titan. So if you’re interested, do watch this!
