    Shirokuma Cafe good

One of the most overlooked slice-of-life anime about animals living side-by-side with us humans. Definitely not for everyone, but if you take time to watch this 50 episode whimsical show, it has things that will give you that warm fuzzy feeling inside. A feeling of acceptance and a feeling that you belong, no matter what creature you are. Nothing much might be noteworthy here, no fancy animations, no top of the line soundtracks, and no overpowering story. But it is what …

    Baccano! great

If it were a western TV show it would still be good, but as anime form, it was perfect. Never had I seen a show with a diverse cast that you can ALL relate with and the crazy plot was wrapped up well even in an illogical manner and under 20 episodes! Until now I am still wondering how it all happened, but applying logic in this show is like applying logic on Gurren Lagan as well, so screw it.

A band of rare beings trapped in a dire situation in which they are interconnected …

    Sword Art Online meh

I get the part why this anime became atrociously overrated, but I also get the part why this anime picked up so many haters very quickly as well. It tried to get the feel of its source material (the light novels) in an animated format, but it kinda screwed up badly in that part. And I just realized how bland the plot development truly is to begin with.

First off, the premise is very ingenious. But as the story progress it really just became a bit of a drag that we …

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge meh

Even though the source material was not that famous to begin with, they still push forward with this adaptation. Risky, yes, but did it pay off? Not really.

Its a story of a young man who accidentally found a freakish young girl with very long hair. And if you though this is a slice-of-life/fantasy/comedy show about hair fetish, you might be right. But then again everything went overboard episode 2 onward and now its a poor copy of Mirai Nikki. But was the assassin wars, …

    Blood+ meh

If you love the vampire theme, I can't blame you. But if you want a vampire theme with great action, amazing soundtrack, and a sensible story...this is not really something to look forward to.

This story of endless deus ex machina, socio-political nonsense and unrequited romance that went nowhere will definitely make you "oh just get to the point already!" so many times it will agitate you more than once. The first half seems promising but as the story progress its like …

    Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho good

Also known as the legendary Ghost Fighter in Philippine shores, this is probably the only shounen show that rivals Dragonball Z in terms of massive popularity (in this country at least). This is prime example of how to make a PROPER shounen show; simple, action packed, and with a small ragtag crew of boys with special powers. No matter how you look at it and no matter how much it evolve, it is still an acceptable formula. This the reason why Hatekyo: Hitman Reborn became …

    Psycho-Pass good

A show with a classic status is easy to identify. Its simply a show plenty of people are talking about in a long span of time. But to make a show with a cult classic is kinda difficult to spot. It has to be something that caters to a small demographic but turned out ot be a really good show that can cater to broader range of audience. In order to be called a cult classic, a lot has to be considered, and one of them is the exploitation of the inhuman side of justice. …

    Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood great

There are remakes, and there are rehashes, and then is reinvention. This is prime example of a reinvention. You take a good franchise adapatation that turned out disapponting, repeat from the top, fix whatever made it wrong, and finally, make a gaddam excellent conclusion. Boom! You fixed it and turned it into the epic show that it truly deserves to be called. Very well done.

I admit I am one of the people who find the original FMA very dissapointing and Brotherhood is a …

    Kamisama no Memochou good

I started to watch this show with very minimal expectations since I still consider mystery shows as something that simply isn't my bravado. I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be something more than meets the eye. Besides, with a loli as the lead investigator, it might be hard to take it rather seriously.

Kamisama no Memochou is a show that centered on Narumi and a simple mishap that took place in a motel that lead him to the adventure of a lifetime. Being …

    Sword of the Stranger good

I got high expectations for this movie for I heard it won an award in Brazil. And somehow I was not disappointed, this film truly delivered. A movie about redemption that did not drag too much and has an epic animation and soundtrack to boot.

Its a story of a small yet tough boy named Kotarou and his dog. They are wandering aimlessly in a vast land in search for a high priest and his temple and they needed all the help they can get. One fateful day he stumbled across a …
