A nice round-off of the main story arc. Despite the cataclysmic final victory of the last episode, the writers actually managed to scrape together a few baddies for a plausible and satisfying encore.
The style, quality and overall tone is like the main show. Animation is great for the fight scenes and reasonably ok for the rest, but since you watch Kill la Kill for the fighting anyway that couldn't be more perfect. And the voice actors must have had a blast recording this. …
This series of 5 short episodes is essentially a MOE parody of Kyokai no Kanata (Beyond The Boundary), so if you are a fan of that series and are looking for more of the same, this definitely isn't it.
All episodes take the form of a court session where the main female cast - who are all rendered as ultra MOE for the occasion - accuses one of the other characters (who is drawn normally) of a "crime", presents evidence to the fact and renders a goofy verdict. For instance …
As is often the case with these unaired episodes, this one does nothing to further the story arc from the main show. As such there is no need to watch it for reasons of continuity.
What it does do though is providing the viewer with a few light hearted slice-of-life stories featuring the main cast and the supporting characters. So fans will definitely want to give it a look.
The action varies from light humour to pure slap-stick - the latter mostly involving Ayumu getting …
There is not much to say about the plot of this OVA, except that it ties perfectly in with the rest of the episodes of Nazo no Kanojo X. Style, quality and tone is the same - and so is the sound.
Talking about sound, I could only get this episode in Japanese with english subtitles at the time of writing, so I don't know whether it exists in a dubbed version. However I am not a fan of the english dub for Nazo no Kanojo X and after having heard the Japanese version of this …
This isn't actually part of the series, but a technical and historical documentary about the tanks featured in it. It is narrated by Akiyama Yukari and consists of a mix of clips from the anime and real footage. As such it can't really be judged as an anime, but should be seen more like a presentation or lecture. It has no story, the animation is sparse and there is no character development in it, so judged by anime standards - which is what we are going after on this site …
There isn't much to say about this except that it looks and feels just like an extra episode. One reason for this is, that the show is mainly episodic and never had an overall story-arc to begin with. So adding an extra episode is not a problem.
As an episode the special itself is ok. It features the entire main cast in one last battle with a monster and if you liked the main show you will definitely like this as well. Just don't expect any major reveal or development.
I found this small OVA series more entertaining than the main show for a couple of reasons.
For one they change a few fundamental premises of the story - like the manner in which the princess resurrects the main protagonist for instance - to something a little more "horror" than "fairy tale". And they tone down the slice-of-life in favor of more plot and action.
The animation seem to have taken a notch upwards as well, and we see more of the colorful royal family in action …
For starters lets get one thing out of the way... address the loli in the room, so to speak. Kure-nai is kinda infamous for being centred around a romance between a 7 year old girl and a 17 year old boy, but mainly among people who haven't seen the show. Because the "romance" is rather one-sided and never strays from cute to creepy. So do not let that put you off from watching a fun and entertaining anime.
This OVA takes place after the arc from the main show has concluded …
Aka. Gonna be the Twin-Tail!!
This show seems to polarise the viewers into two groups: Those who hate it with a passion and those who love the shit out of it. So I have graciously decided to step in and decide the matter. Beware that there is no appealing after this - my verdict is final.
The show...
The premise of the show is simple. The earth is being threatened by an evil race of aliens called the Elemerians who are all based on a variety of enlarged anthropomorphised …
An extra episode of "Dusk Maden of Amnesia" that isn't part of the story arc of the main show, but takes place afterwards chronologically. As such it is not a necessary watch nor should you watch it before you have watched the previous 12 episodes, but I would still recommend it to fans of the show because it adhere to the same high standard as the rest (see reviews of the main show). And this show definitely has ghostly atmosphere coming out the wazoo! It is one of the …
