Otherwise it’s a complete bore.
The story is just a watered down mess of the original series.
There are less characters and those who remain are not nearly as enjoyable as the ones from the Anime.
Don't expect to actually understand what is going on unless you watched the original series, and if you did watch it you will just be disappointed about what was changed and how badly it affected the story.
3/10. Poor use of a movie adaption. You really are not missing anything by not watching it.
