The story was great and quite unique. It always punched hard right in the feels when it should have. The only thing holding this story back is the timeskip. For me I would have liked more episodes before the timeskip. I would have liked to see our main character deal with romantic problems or something like that. Let me be frank, the anime is horrible. Let me be franker, you could not write more generic characters if you tried. The only character that has a shred of actual CHARACTER to him is the main guy. I play the piano so I can relate to this story. Firstly the animation was good. Not on the level of Ghibli films but still ok for its time. The story was quite interesting as well. Both main characters were well written, although I have to say, it was hard rooting for Kai as he is the “talanted kid” trope. It is really hard to relate to him due to that. Overall though, the movie was solid. Well written and well executed.
